When I moved into my current flat two years ago, I posted a picture on my Instagram of some stickers (see below) that were stuck underneath a shelf in one of the bedrooms. Surprisingly a guy who used to live in the flat, and had left them there, saw the photo and commented on it. Ever since I’ve followed him on Instagram and twitter, it turns out he’s a very interesting bloke and he’s having a gallery show soon!…
This bloke is Gavin Strange aka Jam Factory, by day he works for Aardman as a Senior Designer in Bristol, working on Gromit Unleashed, Morph and Shaun in the City. Outside the day job he goes under the alias JamFactory and has tried his hand at a massive range of different projects. One of my favourites is a bike documentary called Boikzmoind which I’ve previously posted about, have a read of it here. JamFactory has produced a range of vinyl toys called droplets, pixel art of hip hop icons and is even in the process of writing a book. Check out his site here.
This Friday JamFactory has an exhibition at Hangfire gallery in Bedminster called ‘From the factory floor’. The gallery will be themed around a factory and some of the merch that will be available looks proper random. Should be an interesting exhibition, get down there if you’re about.
The exhibition is 19:00 – 21:00 on this Friday (December 4th) at Hangfire Gallery (49 North St, Bristol BS3 1EN). For the Hangfire website post click here.
