Rubble Kings Film Released June 19th 2015

Rubble Kings film is a feature length documentary by filmmaker Shan Nicholson about gang culture of New York in the 1970’s. The documentary explains how a positive Hip-hop culture grew from a background of gang competition and violence. It features icons like Jazzy Jay, Joe Conzo and Afrika Bambaataa.

The hype around this project has been rumbling on for a couple of years now, I think I first heard of it on12oz prophet. Last year they ran a Kickstarter page which funded full production of the film. The full-length film opens on 19th June, should be good. Here’s the trailer…
